I wanted to add to this thread because QBZ is a fantastic, native player for Qobuz with support for Qobuz Connect.
They maintain a headless daemon, "qbzd" which may be possible to integrate into the existing stack. It was designed with a Raspberry Pi in mind, but it is restricted to 64-bit setups, so you wouldn't be able to compile it for use on devices previous to the Pi 3 (though my attempt at getting BerryAudio working on my Pi 2 wasn't a success either)
Readme for the daemon is here:
https://github.com/vicrodh/qbz/wiki/Headless-Daemon. Admittedly, it's nearly a full stack solution on its own but it doesn't appear too different in philosophy from Librespot.
