Multiroom capabilities

I've been happy enough with my first Berryaudio player that I have converted another Raspberry/DAC to try out the multiroom. I've figure out how to start the 'server' on one player, and 'join the room' from the second. What sources can feed the multiroom server?
Library? Radio? Spotify?

[backstory]
I currently have a Slim/Squeeze/Logitech/Lyrion server (LMS), and 6-8 players (of different sorts). I've been using this setup for almost two decades. I use the LMS to feed a couple of pre-defined sets of players (i.e. Berryaudio 'Rooms'). It works perfectly with my locally-stored FLAC-encoded files. In the past two years, it has been performing badly with the Spotty plugin. I was hoping Berryaudio might be part of my LMS-replacement strategy.
