Huge appreciation from Mexico + Real-world UI/UX feedback for rescuing vintage audio gear

Hello Varun,
My name is Silon, and I am an audio and electronics hobbyist from Puebla, Mexico. First of all, I want to say a huge THANK YOU for creating and sharing BerryAudio.
My main motivation for this project is to rescue and give a second life to excellent, high-quality audio equipment that has become obsolete simply because it lacks modern software updates or compatibility with platforms like Spotify. I was actively searching for an open-source, audiophile-grade music streamer to breathe new life into these systems. When I discovered BerryAudio, its focus on high-resolution playback, clean architecture, and true open-source philosophy immediately stood out to me. I knew right away it was the perfect foundation to modernize this hardware without losing its original sound quality.
I am currently building a personal, high-fidelity audio streamer for my home as a proof of concept. My setup includes a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, a Waveshare PCM5122 DAC (for RCA and 3.5mm outputs), a 2.8" DSI touchscreen, and an IR remote control. My goal is to create a system that feels as simple, intuitive, and premium as a modern car stereo, so that anyone in my family can use it without needing a manual.
While testing BerryAudio for this specific use case, I encountered a few UI/UX challenges that I wanted to share with you constructively:
Output Switching: Switching between audio outputs (Bluetooth, RCA, and Jack) is not very straightforward or intuitive for an everyday user.
Visual Clarity: The main screen could greatly benefit from larger touch targets and clearer, visual icons for the 4 main sources (Spotify, AirPlay 2, Radio, and Local Music).
Complexity: The current interface is incredibly powerful, but it feels a bit too technical for non-tech-savvy users who just want to press "play" and enjoy their music.
Since I am an enthusiast and want to take this project further, I would like to know if there is any additional documentation, API reference, or information available about the frontend architecture of BerryAudio, beyond what is already available on your official website. I am very interested in understanding how the UI is structured so I can attempt some personal modifications to create a simpler, more intuitive layout for my specific use case, without breaking the core audio system.
Thank you again for your time, your dedication, and for sharing this amazing tool with the community. I am very excited to see how BerryAudio continues to evolve, and I hope my feedback from a real-world build is helpful!
Best regards,
Silon
