if I understand right, usb dacs are not supported yet ?
AI proposed me to modify /etc/asound.conf and ~/.asoundrc changing the null_device slave to "plughw:Audio"
didn't tried yet, afraid to break something

It should be supported if the OS detects the USB DAC, if you have a specific DAC I can may be add it to the supported DAC List and may be you can confirm if it works
